Mehdi Mahmoudi

Mehdi is an engineer and digital entrepreneur known for his technical rigor, his pragmatism and his ability to deliver complex solutions on tight deadlines. For more than fifteen years, he has designed and deployed web, mobile and cloud applications for businesses, financial institutions and international organizations, in Tunisia and in Europe.

Holding a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and an MBA from the Mediterranean School of Business in Tunis, Mehdi combines a solid engineering background with a keen understanding of business issues. He is as comfortable with leadership teams as with technical teams.

At 23, he co-founded appid, a consulting firm specializing in mobile and cloud application development, where he served as chief technology officer. In 2014, he founded EMIKETIC Technologies, a software agency specializing in real-time distributed web applications, which helps tech startups and software-as-a-service (SaaS) publishers solve complex technical challenges using agile methods, on time and on budget.

His experience with the financial sector is first-hand. For the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, as part of an EIB program, he developed a modular white-label application that lets partner banks produce compliant reports on their use of the credit line: guarantee calls, loans and portfolio. Installable offline on bankers’ workstations, the tool simplifies IT validation, reduces data entry errors and limits security risks. It was delivered in less than a quarter, from kickoff workshops to deployment in three banks in Morocco and Tunisia.

His track record includes other major achievements. He was chief technology officer of Blackroom, an AI-powered virtual data room platform for mergers and acquisitions, for which he designed the system and built the technical team. For Theop, a French engineering and project management firm with more than 200 staff, he was project manager and architect of a steering tool for major construction projects: approval workflows, risk assessment modules and dashboards integrated with Power BI. He also developed UNESCO’s official mobile app on Tunisia’s heritage.

His skills cover software systems architecture, SaaS platform development, agile project management and third-party technology integration. He works in French, Arabic and English.
