Yves Desautels

Yves is a professional known for his integrity, his sense of ownership and his ability to take on challenges. Throughout a career spanning more than twenty-five years, he has drawn on his composure, his sense of responsibility and his ability to learn quickly to fit effectively into a variety of professional settings and successfully carry out the missions entrusted to him.

Holding a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Université de Sherbrooke, Yves has supported many entrepreneurs and worked closely with SMEs across a range of sectors. For twelve years, as a commercial account manager at Desjardins Business, he built lasting relationships with entrepreneur clients, analyzed their needs, designed tailored financing solutions and integrated service offerings, and negotiated credit terms. He also developed a broad network of business contacts to serve his clients.

His career has taken him into fields as diverse as the military, transportation, construction, financial institutions and skills development. He notably ran a retail SME for ten years, where he was responsible for staff, profitability and service quality. At Desjardins, he then served as a skills development team leader: he assessed the team’s needs, recruited resources, strengthened training and coaching capacity, and prioritized improvements to training programs.

Until recently, he was financial controller of a Québec SME: he oversaw administrative operations, prepared financial forecasts, tracked performance, optimized profitability and led an improvement action plan. He also acted as a strategic advisor to senior management.

His skills cover strategic planning, business model analysis, business diagnostics and process analysis, profitability analysis, financial forecasting, and workshop facilitation and training.
